NOVA Scribes is an open forum for visual practitioners to share their knowledge. The group includes: graphic facilitators, graphic recorders, scribes, sketchnoters, video scribers, UX designers, and visual consultants. We have organized classes, graphic jams, and open space to share skills and learn from each other.
In October 2019, I designed and presented a webinar for NOVA Scribes entitled, "Engaging Adults as Visual Practitioners"
Do you know how adults REALLY learn? Get the principles of adult learning and engagement from an instructional designer and graphic facilitator! Knowing how adults bring in new ideas and process information will take your graphic facilitation AND your graphic recording from good to great!
As visual practitioners, we work with adults in many ways: facilitating groups; teaching classes; participating in office events; coaching individuals; graphic recording conferences; even speaking at conferences! Something all of these have in common is the need to engage and collaborate to be as efficient and effective as possible. Adult learning strategies have wide application in all these areas.
This webinar will provide tips for increasing audience engagement, which improves understanding and recall of the information being presented. This webinar is for anyone working with adults, especially facilitators who want to improve their audience engagement. There will be new “tools for your toolbox” for ways you can use your visuals to enhance the session.
Topics we will discuss:
- Learning retention rates
- Know your audience - who are you talking to?
- Learning styles
- Assessing audience engagement
- Tools and techniques
This webinar was originally presented on 17 October 2019, 7-9pm EST.
